Kinfolk Dinner

If you don’t already know about it, Kinfolk is a great independent magazine focusing on gatherings, spending time with each other, enjoying the good things that life has to offer.

Back when I was doing photography full time I took some photos for Kinfolk, a coffee brewing photo series featuring some of my Melbourne besties (Mark Free, Aaron Wood, Jenni Bryant and Matt Perger) making coffee at home. When I moved back to Paris I received an email from Lauren and Lise (who I had no idea was going to be working with us a few months later!) inviting me to a Kinfolk gathering, a butcher block party. It was a really awesome night. We had some beautiful food and met a bunch of cool people. So when Lauren offered to organize the next Kinfolk Dinner at Holybelly, Sarah and I were game, even though we had just opened and the paint was still fresh on the walls!

Sarah and Lise put together a delicious, hearty meal (veal ossobuco with wild mushrooms! yum.) I uncorked a few bottles of red wine produced by my uncle in the south of France, people started chatting, food was being passed around, it was really cool.

Here are a few photos to give you an idea of what it looked like. We’re hoping to host many more Kinfolk dinners in the future and you should definitely come on down. In case you’re curious about Kinfolk the magazine, we do sell it at Holybelly and there is always a copy kicking around.

Tres cool! We prepared a Kinfolk dinner recently to celebrate the cookbook. I love how events and people across the globe connect.

We have enjoyed following your post. Unfortunately, you had not opened when we were in Paris on our last visit so we look forward to visiting you on our next trip. Best of luck.
